AC & the Virtual Virtuosos is casting The Moana Music Show right now. Please note that all roles are volunteer only (unpaid) and virtual. The following roles are open for audition:
Tamatoa (2 roles-main and end title):
A giant lobster who stole Maui’s hook. Tenor, Baritone, or Contralto Voice (willing to consider mezzo soprano or soprano). Any gender. Any age 18+. Vocal Range D3-E4 or D4-E5). Sings Shiny.
Audition Requirements: A song you sing well with a similar vocal range or Shiny + voice test or knowledge of vocal range.
Tala (1 role-end title only)
Moana’s grandmother. Female, 18+. Alto. Vocal Range: G3-D5. Sings solos in Where You Are and I Am Moana, Chorus singing in Finale.
Audition Requirements: A song you sing well with a similar vocal range + voice test or knowledge of vocal range.
Lead Ancestor (2 roles-main and end title):
Solo in We Know the Way. Must be willing to learn Maori pronunciations. Any voice part. Vocal range: G3-D5. Will also sing in four other chorus numbers as an ancestor, including the finale.
Audition Requirements: A song you sing well with a similar vocal range + voice test or knowledge of vocal range.
Sina (1 role-main or end title, depending on ability):
Moana’s Mother. Mezzosoprano or Alto able to sing up to E5.
Audition Requirements: A song you sing well with a similar vocal range + voice test or knowledge of vocal range.
Full Chorus: (multiple spots)
Sings both as an ancestor and an islander. 6 Total songs. Must being willing to learn Maori pronunciation. Any voice part or vocal range.
Audition Requirements: Voice test to determine voice part or knowledge of vocal range. Expectations meeting.
Ancestors: (multiple spots)
Sings as Maori ancestors. Some singing in Maori will be required, but we’ll go over the pronunciations. Any voice part or vocal range. 5 total songs.
Audition Requirements: Voice test to determine voice part or knowledge of vocal range. Expectations meeting.
Islanders: (multiple spots)
Sings as townspeople on the Polynesian Island Moana and her family call home. Any voice part or vocal range. 2 total songs.
Audition Requirements: Voice test to determine voice part or knowledge of vocal range. Expectations meeting.
Orchestra (multiple spots for woodwind and/or string instruments)
