It’s almost that time–we’re gearing up for the premiere of the Wicked Music Show. So, let’s start by meeting the cast. Introducing the stars of the stars of the Wicked Music Show.

Elphaba: Played by April Cox

Although this wasn’t the original plan, I’ve stepped up to play the leading role with Marissa having to step down to pursue her teaching career. Because I am a soprano singing a mezzosoprano role, I did take up Elphaba’s solos to a higher key.

G(a)linda: Also Played by April Cox

G(a)linda is the role I had intended to play all along. She is the soprano role in the show, though I did take Popular and one or two other songs up a step or two to a more comfortable range for me. I am a classically trained soprano and have been singing for approximately 30 years. Past roles: Mrs. Gobineau in The Medium, Anna in the Frozen Music Show, Jeannie in the Aladdin Music Show, Timon & Rafiki in The Lion King Music Show, Eric & Flounder in The Little Mermaid Music Show, and Isabela in the Encanto Music Show. Upcoming roles: Moana in the Moana Music Show.

Fiyero: Played by Megahn Howard

Our resident contralto, Megahn tends to play more male roles than female ones. She performed in musicals in high school and has been involved with the music shows from the beginning. Past roles: Young/Teen Anna in the Frozen Music Show, Chorus/Woman 1 in the Aladdin Music Show, Chorus in The Lion King Music Show, Jetsom & King Triton in The Little Mermaid Music Show, and Louisa in the Encanto Music Show. Upcoming roles: Tui in the Moana Music Show.

The Wizard: Also Played by Megahn Howard

Due to the small cast in Wicked, Megahn also played the role of The Wizard, getting to sing the solo: Wonderful.

Megahn is also on the production team and serves as choreographer (as needed), an arranger, and art designer.

Chorus

There are two chorus numbers in Wicked: No One Mourns the Wicked and One Short Day.

Chorus parts for No One Mourns the Wicked:

Soprano 1: April Cox (not appearing)

Soprano 2: Diane Weigle

Alto 1: April Cox (not appearing)

Alto 2: Megahn Howard

Because April Cox also sings the role of Glinda, she only appears in No One Mourns the Wicked in that role. She does, however, sing off screen the soprano 1 and alto 1 parts to help fill in the chorus. Both Megahn Howard and Diane Weigle perform their parts on screen as well as taking the soprano and alto solos at the beginning of the number.

The Wicked Music Show serves as Diane Weigle’s premiere in the music shows. She will also be appearing the chorus for the Moana Music Show.
