• What do I need for my first lesson? For beginning singers, I’ll provide a more general warm up, and you’ll do a voice test and then one of the gentle warm ups from the playlist above. Once I have an idea of your voice, we can work on more specific goals and music depending on time remaining. For those who know your voice part, you’ll start with a gentle warm up in your voice part, so I can evaluate how best to help you. From there, I will guide you to the best music and resources to work on your voice. For an initial flute music, you should ideally have some of your own music, so I can get an idea of your playing level. If you’re just starting out, we can work on basic fingerings.
• Do I need to have my own flute? Yes. If you’re unsure of what kind to get, the trial lesson can focus on a discussion of different flute types and my recommendations.
• What kind of voice training do you offer? I offer lessons for beginning and intermediate students. If you’re already at an advanced level, my services are likely not appropriate for you. If you are unsure what level you are at, feel free to sign up for a free trial lesson, and we can see if it’s a fit! Beyond that, I do taylor the lessons to suit the student.
• Do you teach complete beginners? Absolutely! I am a firm believer that anyone can sing with the right training as long as they are willing to put the work in. Come with a positive attitude and be ready to work, and we’ll go from there!
• What is your cancellation policy? I ask for at least 24 hours notice for a full refund on your lesson. If you cancel within 12 hours, you get a 90% refund, within 8 hours 75%, within 4 hours 50%, and within at least 1 hour before, you get 25% back. If you cancel within less than one hour or no show, you will not be refunded.
